Moot Courts

VdA Academia sponsors national and international Moot Courts. Noteworthy in recent years has been the National Moot Court in International Law and the Portuguese participation in the Jessup International Moot Court.

Students can train applying international law in these events by solving case studies and acquire practical skills in the preparation of pleadings and memoranda, investigation, public speaking, argumentation and procedural strategy.

Law, International Relations, and Political Science students, from the 2nd year of their undergraduate degree onwards.

Participants in this initiative will be able to:

  • Develop hard skills in a unique way, enhancing their research ability and problem-solving skills through the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence to improve their legal expertise.
  • Develop oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Train teamwork skills and the ability to handle adverse situation
