As part of the Women on Boards Executive Programme’s ‘Extended Experience’ initiative, the conference entitled ‘The Long Game: Women, Longevity and Resilient Leadership | How do we prepare women for longer lives, longer careers and more transitions?’ takes place this Tuesday, 22 September, featuring Carla Sousa Pontes, a doctor, Head of Longevity at CUF and a member of the World Health Organisation’s Ageing is Living Leadership Group. The event starts at 3.00 pm in the António de Magalhães Cardoso auditorium at VdA’s Lisbon office.

In a world where people may live to be nearly 100, with careers spanning 40 or 50 years and increasingly non-linear career paths, this session poses a fundamental question: how can we prepare women to live, work, lead and navigate multiple transitions, whilst preserving their health, functionality, cognitive ability, autonomy and capacity for reinvention?

Combining the science of longevity and innovation in healthcare with women’s health, leadership, resilience and performance, the conference will also feature José Pedro Almeida, an exercise physiologist from the Longevity Unit at CUF Tejo Hospital.

As part of the Women on Boards Extended Experience, various sessions are organised throughout the year to broaden knowledge on topics relevant to a network of over 300 female professionals.

The Women on Boards Executive Programme, organised by VdA Academia, aims to prepare female executives from companies in the private sector, the public sector and the civil service who have the potential to join management and supervisory bodies, or who already sit on such bodies and wish to develop the skills essential to performing their roles.
