VdA Academia has followed the positive progress in increasing the presence of women on management company boards of listed companies and on the state-owned enterprise sector, in particular through the Executive Women on Boards Program and is delighted to announce the opening of applications for the 5th and 6th editions of the Program.

Women on Boards was created to respond to the difficult paradigm of gender imbalance representation between men and women in managerial and supervisory positions, both in State public sector entities, as well as in corporate public enterprises and in State public administration and to promote awareness about the importance of diversity as a factor of innovation and creativity that generates competitive advantages vital for companies business growth.

Within this framework, during the program five days, knowledge and skills are developed in key areas for the performance of functions in management and supervisory bodies, including management, legal and behavioral skills training, providing participants with a matrix knowledge to resolve business practice situations.

Both editions will take place in person (face-to-face training) at Vieira de Almeida & Associados Lisbon Office, on the 8, 09, 10, 23 and 24 September (5th edition) and on 12, 13, 14, 28 and 29 October ( 6th edition), in partnership with ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, Porto Business School, PWN Lisbon and SHL Portugal.

The opening session of these sessions will take place on September 8 at 12:00 pm and will have as special guest Nurjahan Khatun (LinkedIn), who will address the theme “Overcoming cultural barriers and overturning prejudices”.

During the following days of the program, participants will have the opportunity to develop their networking with guest key note speakers and speakers, in sharing mode and in close proximity with them, as well as to discover their experience and the challenges they face as managers. Participants also gain access to the Alumnae Women on Boards network, which brings together all participants from previous editions and develops periodic networking events such as the annual Women on Boards meeting.
