Following the success of the first edition of the Women on Boards Executive Programme, which prepares female executives for leadership positions in corporate supervisory bodies, VdA Academia is pleased to announce that the programme will run again in 2018.

The programme, scheduled for October, will run in partnership with the University of Porto Business School (PBS), the Professional Women’s Network of Lisbon, and the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG).

The 4-day course will address management, legal, and behavioral factors relevant to the successful and efficient exercise of administrative functions. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with guest and keynote speakers, getting to know their experience and the challenges they face as managers.

The course aids ambitious women in the development of a broad knowledge matrix for producing and executing complex business solutions. Rita Nabeiro, CEO of Adega Mayor, said of the programme: "[It] is an added value in the training and preparation not only of women, but of all those who have or who hope to incorporate Boards of Directors.”

The initiative emerged in response to the passage of the Law 62/2017 of 1st August, which established a more balanced regime of representation between women and men in administrative bodies, and in the supervision of listed companies and public sector entities.
