VdAcademia, Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA)'s training academy duly certified by DGERT is launching its 2016 International Award edition together with Almedina publishers. This award is open to all Law students coming from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor and further expands to include Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Entrants to the award apply by presenting a written research paper on a certain subject which, in 2016 will be "The principle of hierarchy among sources of law and its consequences".
The deadline for handing in papers is the 31 May 2016. The award amounts to € 3.000 for the first prize and € 1.000 for special mentions.

This is VdAcademia award's seventh edition which was firstly launched in 2010 at a national level to include more Portuguese-speaking countries in 2013 and to expand to French speaking African countries in 2016. The awards continuing expansion follows VdA's growing activity abroad through its international platform which assures VdA's clients the same standards of excellence wherever they venture. Along the same line, VdAcademia aims to promote and reward excellence in universities around the globe.
